This is the tertiary time I've passed the Security+ exam and the third time I've used Darril Gibson's volume every bit my main study guide. I supplemented my studies with Professor Messer's free video class on youtube and by downloading the exam objectives from comptia's site and adding notes, definitions, etc to the pages.

I'yard certain this is a skilful book. I practice non know if I volition pass my test on the start time. I just finished reading information technology. I am scheduled to take my exam in nearly a calendar week and a one-half. Passed this exam today, using this book as my primary resources. Information technology's less dry out than other textbooks (Gibson clearly likes his Simpsons) and it provides good coverage of the exam requirements. However I'd recommend using aslope other resource (videos, online tests) to stand your best hazard

- The book doesn't gear up y'all for reading logs or more complex CMD line queries, a test lab or some exposure to these would be useful

But because it's a technical book I gave information technology iii stars. Not quite the reading material that keeps you wanting to read more than, if y'all know what I'1000 saying. Anyway, out of all the security plus books out there I would recommend this i. Definitely helps brand the info easy to sympathize. Highly recommend!

I actually liked Darril's explanations and deep dives into topics. I felt this book striking all the height level concepts that were approached on the actual 501 test. I would also highly recommend Professor Messer as an add-0n, but if youre looking to knock out the Security+ cert, this has all the info you would need. This book really helped me understand and cover all objectives of the security+ certification exam
However got some practice tests to do & some rivision
Even if i dont pass the test i'm glad i read the book! while i already am familiar with some cyber security concepts, with assistance of this book I sympathize every concept, terminology fifty-fifty better at present

The book explains the elementary security concepts with great examples and like shooting fish in a barrel language to understand. I read the book during the preparation of my SY0-501 security+ certificate and I passed the test from the commencement time.

Swell book. Easy to understand and thorough. My employer purchased the additional online content for me, which I highly recommend. The tests in this volume are much easier than the real exam questions. I read this volume then took an in-person boot army camp class. I passed on my first endeavor.
